In 1905 Alexandria Graham Bell invented the first prototype Airboat
to test airplane motors and props. In the 1930’s and 1940’s Airboats
manufactories and airboat tours were introduced in Florida. The
pioneers of early years, realized that the only reliable mode of
transportation into the backwater, swamps and vast marsh of Florida
was by airboat. The name swamp people began to emerge and people
from all parts of the world were offered the opportunity to enter
into a new frontier.
We are here to continue that quest and offer our guest an
opportunity to venture back into that frontier. Our small 6
passenger boats and Native boat captains will entertain you with
stories of pioneers, native Indians and of course the critters of
the everglades. We pride ourselves in continued effort to promote
conservation and by narrating about the everglades throughout your
tour. We know you will tell others, why we are the #1 narrated
airboat swamp tour in central Florida.
My name is Jim Passmore, known on the pond
as Captain Jim.
I have been
fishing and guiding since 1973 on Central Florida’s. Lake Toho and
Kissimmee chain. While you are on this site, and if you get a
hunkering for some great fishing, visit my other site.
www.orlandofishing.com.
Many of my Florida years have been
spent here in Osceola county. This area is known not only for it's fishing
but also has a rather large concentration of bald eagles, along with
many other species of birds. You may also have a chance to see
alligators, wild deer, wild hogs, otters, and marsh cows (We call
them Lake Cypress manatees). I have on occasion seen Bob cats,
and coyotes.
I
offer sunset cruises approximately 1 hr. before and during sunset. Our
Orlando and Central Florida airboat tours take place in the vast wetlands that border the secluded
lakes on the Kissimmee chain of lakes. I would hope to offer
you a tour that even I enjoy, not just a ride around a lake but a
chance to enter the back country creeks and marshes and possibly
even over some cow pastures....(Cow tipping is optional).
My airboat is coast guard approved and tested, licensed
and insured. The operation is above board as far
as safety is concerned, as long as my guests don't try to pet the
alligators or other critters we may encounter on the trip.
I am pretty flexible on the
tour route. The weather and water levels play a big part as far as
where we can travel and what we might see.
So if you are on holiday or if you live close by I hope you take
advantage of this opportunity and come out and experience an airboat
adventure. E-mail me or phone to set up an
appointment.
Hope to see ya real soon.
